If you're driving around Albany later today, you may notice there are some road closures. Before you huff and puff, find out why.

Every year, names of local fallen officers are added to the State of New York Police Officers' Memorial in the Empire State Plaza in downtown Albany since 1989. Today, sixty-three names will be added to the list to honor fallen officers, according to WNYT.

The names of the 54 men and nine women will be added to the memorial, two of which we honored for Blue Friday this year. The wall is divided into three sections, honoring line of duty deaths in 2018, an older death from before the wall, and ground zero-related illness deaths.

While you may be stuck in a bit of traffic today or having to take a detour, remember these officers who put their lives on the line for us and took the ultimate sacrifice.
