After 26yrs Popular Saratoga County Chinese Restaurant Closes
A popular Chinese restaurant in Saratoga County has closed for good after twenty-six years in the community. The owners decided to retire.
Sam's Chinese Restaurant on Route 50 in Burnt Hills has decided it is time to close. They announced it on Labor Day in a heartfelt post on their Facebook page.
The owners, Sam and Ling So, decided to retire, expressing their deep gratitude to the loyal customers who turned their dreams into reality. They wrote:
It has been a pleasure serving our community and we appreciate every single customer for making our dreams come true. We will cherish the great memories and friends we’ve made along the way. We can’t thank you enough for the love and support you’ve shown our family throughout the years!
The couple had been fixtures in the restaurant industry for 35 years, with Sam's Chinese Restaurant being their pride and joy since they opened in the summer of 1997.
What Particular Chinese Food Did Sam's Chinese Restaurant Specialize In?
The restaurant was renowned for its diverse menu, featuring delectable Szechuan, Cantonese, and Hunan-inspired dishes. A standout favorite was the Dragon & Phoenix, a tantalizing Hunan-inspired creation consisting of jumbo shrimp sautéed in a zesty garlic sauce alongside General Tso's chicken.
According to the Daily Gazette, the community expressed sadness over the restaurant's closure while extending warm wishes for their well-deserved retirement. Dan Herkel, a customer and admirer, shared his sentiments on Facebook, emphasizing the restaurant's iconic status, exceptional food, and the lasting memories it created. The restaurant leaves a significant legacy in the hearts of its customers and the Burnt Hills community.
