Today we get to sample some great brews at the Saratoga Beer Summit. For me the day will be about sampling things I have not tried, but as a beer aficionado here are some you should be sure to sample!

Now I am a big beer fan, but when it comes to technical descriptions of beer...well, I am a beer idiot. So here are some of my faves you should try today at the Saratoga Beer Summit, just based on a simple beer fan's observations.

Allagash White: Simply one of the most refreshing beers on the the planet. Brewed in Portland, Maine this wheat beer brewed with orange peel will blow your mind! Having lived in Portland for a spell, they have some great craft beers. This is one of the best!

Harpoon UFO Raz: This is a Hefeweizen so it is unfiltered. Brewed with raspberries, this is another beer that is on the lighter side and super refreshing. You can sample alot of this one and not feel like you are overdoing it. Win! ;)

Switchback Ale: Before I lived in the Capital Region, one of the things I looked forward to most was drinking this beer whenever I visited. Brewed in Burlington, Vermont, it's just a great, straight up ale. Another one you can sample alot of without overdoing it.

Shipyard Gingerbreadhead: Another one from Portland, Maine, this is an interesting one. With a name like Gingerbreadhead you would expect it to be sweet, but this darker winter beer actually has a more spicy finish. I know we have had a mild winter, but there's nothing wrong with a heavier beer to make you feel warm inside.

Long Trail Sick Day: Another great, spicy winter beer. Another one that will warm you up inside! You have plenty of time to drink lighter beers come summer time. ;)

There you have, some fruity, lighter offerings and some heavy winter beers to enjoy before the season is over. Happy sampling today!
