This past Tuesday I wrote a story about the American Red Cross desprately needing blood donations due to the recent Tropical Storms. Siena College and all the of the other MAAC schools are looking to do their part.

Siena  will be hosting their blood drive this coming  Tuesday, September 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Sarazen Student Union on campus. The blood drive is not just aimed at students anyone can dontate. The College is hoping for a very large turnout from the community due to the immediate need in the area. As I mentioned in my story 145 blood drives were cancelled due to the storms and many hospitals are in need more than ever.

According to a Press Release, The idea behind the American Red Cross MAAC Blood Drive is a fun and competitive way to emphasize the critical importance of donating blood. MAAC institutions are working with local American Red Cross centers to coordinate a one day campus-wide blood drive. Siena is the first school to hold its drive. Those interested in donating blood, can contact Judy Dougherty in the Franciscan Center at 783-2333.

Many of our friends and neighobrs thoughout the area are in need of care. Do what you can to help and give the gift of life. Give blood this Tuesday at Siena college
