Several Retail Thefts Kept Local Police Busy
In less than a week, several Capital Region stores were recently the scene of four different shoplifting cases. East Greenbush Police arrested four people that were accused of those shoplifting cases.
A 44-year-old Wynantskill woman, Maria K. French was arrested after she was allegedly caught stealing numerous cosmetic items and clothing at the East Greenbush Walmart.
Also arrested was Michael D. Bailey, a 23-year-old from East Greenbush. He was accused of taking some merchandise without paying for it at the East Greenbush Hannaford. That case involved a brief foot chase.
A Rensselaer man, 30-year-old Tony C. Tanner, was arrested for allegedly taking a $300 dollar iPad from the Target store on Route 4.
At another store, 19-year-old Ashley R. Tedford from East Greenbush was arrested after she allegedly took a shirt from one of the clothing racks and stuffed it into her purse.
According to a press release from the East Greenbush Police Department, they will all be in East Greenbush Town Court on July 31.
