The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has released video footage of their rescue of a Niskayuna couple.

It's a story that ultimately had a happy ending, but one that I am sure was scary nonetheless for Blake Alois and Madison Popolizio. While hiking in the Adirondacks Sunday the couple got stranded on Algonquin Mountain, according to nyup.com. They spent 2 days on the mountain and were rescued on Tuesday. Both suffered hypothermia but are thankfully okay.

The 2 were lifted off the mountain via helicopter, and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation posted video of Blake's rescue:

A harrowing story indeed, but thankfully one with a happy ending. Be safe out there hitting the trails this winter!
