Did you miss out on the free fishing days this past weekend? No worries, more are planned later this year.

If, like me, you love to get out on occasion for some fresh water fishing, but may not necessarily want to invest in a fishing license, New York's Free Fishing Days are perfect for you. The first 2 of 2018 were held this past Saturday and Sunday, and several more are planned throughout the rest of the year at the following dates according to the New York Department of Environmental Conservation:

  • Saturday and Sunday, June 23-24, 2018
  • Saturday, September 22, 2018
  • Sunday, November 11, 2018 (Veteran's Day)

The free fishing days apply to New York fresh waters. And like the DEC website says, these are great for the occasional fisher, someone trying it for the first time. It's also a great opportunity to bring a a guest with you fishing. Maybe if Brad Paisley had free fishing days, he wouldn't have need to sing 'I'm Gonna Miss Her.'
