Well if driving can be challenging enough, this could make it even more of a challenge. The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles will no longer require you to take an eye exam when you get your driver's license.

In a story from WTEN, the D.M.V. Commissioner Barbara Fiala released a statement saying: "We anticipate that these actions will not only be a great convenience for our customers but will also allow us to provide better customer service to New Yorkers who must come into D.M.V. offices for more complicated transactions."

Really - A convenience? How about a safety factor? I know I'll be taking a little more caution when I'm on the road.

All I can think of is the old Mr. Magoo cartoons.

Do you think this is a good idea or not?
