Updated on October 14 at 6:15 p.m. - The story about the mother cat and kittens found on Columbus Day in a dumpster in Nassau, has lead to an arrest. New York State Police in Schodack have arrested 43-year-old Ryan Dorr from Nassau. They charged him with four counts of abandoning an injured animal. These are misdemeanor charges.

According to authorities it was his girlfriend's cats. Dorr admitted in court to throwing the cats into the dumpster. He could spend a year in jail if he is convicted. Perhaps someone will do the same to him if he goes to jail.

A mother cat along with her three newborn kittens have been found stuffed in a box that was duct-taped and tossed into a dumpster and left for dead, in Nassau in Rennselaer County. The mother cat was shot in the back with a pellet gun and is now paralyzed.

In a story from our friends at WXXA - Fox 23 News, the person that found the cats lifted up the top of the dumpster and found the poor cat with its head coming out of duct tape. "Somebody had duct-taped the box shut."

From the pictures that I posted of the cats and you know who may have had something to do with this horrible case of animal abuse, please contact the New York State Police Schodack Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 518- 732-4644.

There are two things that really bother me - hearing about children that are abused, and animals that are abused. I hope to God that whoever did this gets caught and maybe someone will do the same thing to you that you did to these helpless animals.
