They were helping raise money for 89-year-old Joseph Teson because they found out from a story that was seen a few days ago on WNYT, that his benefits were reduced to just six dollars a month.

In the recent story from WNYT, Teson was contacted by the Department Of Veterans Affairs because he was overpaid. It wasn’t just a little bit of an overpayment. They’re claiming it was more than $3,000 dollars.

The members of the Watervliet Fire Department has had a great response from the community, and is continuing to collect for Teson, and is going to match whatever they make in donations.
