I'll start this by saying that I am a woman with a career and a busy schedule and bills just like so many. I know I'm typically the target demographic for the average "day spa" yet, I still can't bring myself to indulge. It's mainly the cost that adds an extra layer of stress and anxiety just thinking about it, which really is the opposite affect that a spa should have.

I'm definitely not judging anyone that decides to take the time to go and enjoy the facials and mud baths of the world. I've heard nothing but amazing things, I guess they're just not for me (or maybe I can't say that fully until I've tried all the things.)

That being said, I scratched my head and said, "huh?" this morning when I saw that a Kids Spa is coming to Colonie Center. Sprinkles Kids Spa will be located upstairs within the Colonie Center Mall and is currently hiring for their July opening.

I couldn't help but wonder if this was really something kids should be doing.

According to their Facebook page, they describe themselves as the following: "Offering Kid Spa and Salon Services, educate about skin and hair care, all while having fun in a kid style spa!"

And as I scroll through the website for Sprinkles Kids Spa, I think it's all starting to make a little more sense now. It's really less about the relaxation (what kids really relax, after all?!) and full on pampering and more about princess parties and little kid "pampering" while educating on the healthy stuff.

Like a "Build-A-Bear," in allowing kids to be a "part of the process," this kids spa could serve to be a bit of the same, which I'm all for.
