I never thought this day would come, but the 'possum' is ready to retire from the road.  When I read the press release announcing that George Jones was ready to stop touring, I was somewhat sad to see another legend get ready to pull off the road.  However, we are so thankful he toured as long as he did, with many stops right here in the Northeast.

After over fifty years of touring, 80 year-old George Jones has decided he is ready to slow down and spend more time with his wife, children and grandchildren.  The 'He Stopped Loving Her Today' singer was quoted as saying "It is tough to stop doing what I love, but the time has come". As a tribute to his loyal fans he wants to tour one more year and let them know, this will be his last.

The Grand Tour will visit approximately 60 cities in 2013.  Tour dates for 2013 have yet to be announced. Meanwhile, 'the greatest living country singer of all-time' continues to play dates through the end of the year, after battling a nasty upper-respitory infection that caused him to stay off the road in the winter of 2012.
