Hunter Mountain Memories – Alan Jackson, Porter Wagoner, Suzy Bogguss And Others Set The Stage

The Taste of Country Music Festival recently announced that they are bringing Country Music back to Hunter Mountain, New York. The setting is the perfect place for a Country Music Festival, as many long-time WGNA listeners have already experienced.
After I shared some of my memories about the popular Hunter Mountain Country Music festivals of the late ’80s and early ’90s, listener Nancy Barnes was kind enough to send some photos. Below you’ll see pictures of Alan Jackson, Porter Wagoner, Suzy Bogguss, Ricky Van Shelton, David Frizzell and Shelley West performing at Hunter Mountain in 1990. We hope you’ll join us June 13-15, 2013 as the Mountain prepares to bring Country Music back to the Catskills. (Keep in mind that these photos were taken long before digital cameras.)
The first ever Taste of Country Music Festival is coming to Hunter Mountain for three days of great country music starting on June 13th, 2013. The lineup features Lady Antebellum, Willie Nelson, Billy Currington, Montgomery Gentry,Trace Adkins, Joe Nichols, and many more. Tickets start at $120 and are on sale now.
