From a story in the Times Union, Arlene Salaca, a Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman said "the pilot of the Cessna 172 was practicing touch-and-go landings - landing and taking off again without stopping".

The plane went down in a field just south of the airport. The two people on board died in the crash. They've only been identified as two males, and the cause is still being investigated. Of course our prayers go out to the families of the victims.
