Golfin' ain't my cup of tea. Each time, it's a catastrophe. Hey - that rhymes! Maybe I can make a song out of that to promote the Sean and Richie Golf Tournament this coming Friday. Are you going?
I did this one LIVE on the air, in real time (literally). The information was coming in "the day of" and I had no choice. Thank God for long songs this morning so I had time to write! Here is what I came up with, for better or worse!
All year I've been writing songs with kids. I've loved every minute of it. However, I wanted to do something special for the great teachers that I've met along the way, so here' s a little ditty for you folks too!
I had a chance to channel the ghost of "Elvis" for this one -a little ditty to commemorate the possible construction of a Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Rensselaer
Mrs. Giardino's 2nd graders at the Marie Curie Institute are an incredibly creative bunch. They not only want to read books on vacation, they want to WRITE them. Listen to music? Not enough for this bunch. They want to WRITE songs this summer. This is my kind of crowd!! Here's the ditty they created while I was there
Thanks for that introduction, digital department! Yes, I will admit that I believe I have created a song that encompasses all of the elements contained in the current crop of "Bro Country" hits blasting out of your speakers lately. (Hey, you've got to be able to make fun of your own, right?)
Dorrie is not a happy camper, but at least I was being honest here. While shopping for gifts for her and mom, I found better deals for myself! I decided to 'fess up to that fact musically at the Olympic Diner in Amsterdam.
A listener told me that he had opportunity to pick up a very rare recording from the late, great "Chairman of the Board" at a yard sale. I was SHOCKED to hear the recording!
What an amazing group of people over there in North Adams. You bombarded me with information, and it warmed the cockles of my heart (whatever that means). Seriously, thank you so much for playing along! Now onto the song! (which rhymes, but that's what I do)
I couldn't let this one go. Sorry in advance, but this is quite the shocker for the residents in The " Little Town O' Bethlehem". (Gee, what song do you think I'm going to parody for this?)
