July 4th is a happy time of year for most Americans. However, man's best friend is terrified of the loud celebrations, and sadly their reaction could lead to a lost family member.

If you were at the Empire State Plaza for the 4th, you saw another amazing fireworks show - if not here are the photos that our staff photographer Nick Lee snapped. We don't mean to brag, but these are some of the best photos of the fireworks at the Plaza we've ever seen!

I had a great time last night at the New York State Plaza with the 4th of July Celebration. Lots of great music from classic rock to country, lots of great food and of course the fireworks.

Today is the 4th of July and the birthday of the greatest nation in the world. The United States Of America is free and proud due to the sacrifices of our armed services who keep us that way every day.

As many people prepare to head to the Empire State Plaza to join WGNA for one of the Northeast's biggest fireworks displays, we wanted you to be aware of some other great fireworks offered on the Fourth of July in the Albany Area for 2012.

This video is kind of a buzzkill but still awesome. The NYPD confiscated 5000 pounds of fireworks then had their bomb techs destroy them all at once. Check this out.     I wonder how many neighbors pooped their pants over that? lol...
