Each year, the New York Beef Council holds an annual "Best Burger in New York State" contest and while it's quite an honor to be recognized, it can be a real game-changer for the place that wins.

Burger bragging rights and notoriety are on the line here and with so many delicious hand-crafted burgers made with love throughout New York, it seems nearly impossible to crown a winner.

Voting is underway now to crown a 2023 winner in this Battle of the Beef, and two of the burgers are from our area.

The New York Beef Council listed the 29 palatable patties nominated, and two of the burgers are made from restaurants right here in the Capital Region, and we think they'd appreciate your vote.

The two from the Capital Region are the Trowbridge Burger made at the Chatham Brewery, and the "Bougee Burger" made at Illusive Restaurant and Bar in Rensellaer.

The Bougee Burger is a combo of sirloin, chuck, and short rib with candied bacon
lobster salad and New York Cheddar cheese, and it's topped with Bougee sauce!

How can I vote?

Voting is currently underway until April 19 to narrow down the restaurants.

On April 22, the Top 10 restaurants will be announced and then voting will open through April 29 to decide the Top 4.

Once the final 4 are announced, those restaurants will be invited to a "cookoff and showdown" at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse. The top burger will then be picked during a blind taste test by the Council judges.

You can vote for your favorite here.
