Upstate NYers! Save a Life & Get a Free Pint of Stewart’s Ice Cream
It's that time of year again for the "Give a Pint, Get a Pint" program. Upstate New York is in dire need of blood donations. The American Red Cross has teamed up with Stewart's to give you a delicious reward. If you donate blood, you can enjoy a free pint of Stewart's ice cream or gelato.
What is the "Give a Pint, Get a Pint" Program?
This is the eighth year that Stewart's Shops has teamed up with the American Red Cross to help increase blood donations in Upstate New York. For the entire month of June, if you donate blood in any of the participating twenty-six counties in Upstate New York, you will be treated to a free pint of your favorite Stewart's ice cream or gelato. You will get a voucher that can be redeemed at any Stewart's location.
There is Always a High Demand For Blood Donors
The American Red Cross needs to collect enough blood for accidents, heart surgery, organ donation, burn victims, and those that are being treated for cancer, leukemia, or sickle cell disease. The startling statistic is that someone is in need of blood every two seconds!
Kevin Coffey, the Regional CEO of the American Red Cross Eastern New York Region told News 10 ABC,
We are so grateful to partner with Stewart’s Shops again this year. Their commitment to highlighting the need for blood is extraordinary. When summer hits, our blood donations typically slow down, yet the need for blood is constant. ‘Give A Pint, Get A Pint’ is a great way to remind people that their donation could save a life while getting thanked with the ultimate summer treat; ice cream.
