Dierks Bentley Joins Taylor Swift Onstage for ‘Every Mile a Memory’ [Watch]
Taylor Swift invited Dierks Bentley to the stage at her concert in Kansas City Monday night (Sept. 21), where they performed his hit, "Every Mile a Memory."
The show was part of a sold-out two-night run at the Sprint Center for the country-gone-pop superstar, whose 1989 tour has been filling arenas all over the country. Bentley has been on his own Sounds of Summer tour with Maddie and Tae, Kip Moore and Canaan Smith, but he took time out to duet with Swift.
Bentley took the stage clad in a simple Van Halen T-shirt in jeans, while Swift was wearing a short, sparkly dress and heels. He took the lead vocal on the song, which he co-wrote and released in 2006 as the lead single from his third studio album, Long Trip Alone. The song reached the top of Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart in November of 2006, becoming Bentley's fourth No. 1 hit.
As the seemingly unlikely duo reached the chorus, Swift addressed the audience, saying, "Let me see your hands!" She then took the harmony part during the chorus as she and Bentley led the crowd in a fun bit of arm-waving audience participation.
Swift shared her own excitement at the duet after the concert, posting a photo of herself and Bentley to her Instagram.
Bentley is just the latest celebrity to join Swift onstage during her current tour, which has also featured appearances from Justin Timberlake and Selena Gomez, Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines (for "Goodbye Earl") and Sam Hunt, who performed "Take Your Time" with her. She also brought former Friends star Lisa Kudrow onstage for a duet on the comedy classic "Smelly Cat," and most recently the Band Perry joined her in Indianapolis to perform their hit, "If I Die Young."
