Year by year we seem to lose more and more Country Music legends. Now, we've lost one of the artists that appeared on Country Music's first platinum certified album for selling one million copies, Wanted: The Outlaws.
A longtime member of Willie Nelson's band died over the weekend. Jody Payne, Nelson's guitarist until 2008, woke up feeling ill on Saturday (Aug. 10) and died from cardiac problems at 5:12AM.

The 2013 edition of Farm Aid will play Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Saturday, September 21. As usual, the diverse lineup will include artists from all-genres volunteering their time and talents to help the American farmer.
As we were honoring our local graduates, I stumbled across this photo that I wanted to share with our Country Music fans. This just isn't a picture that you'd imagine seeing anywhere in the history books!
Heavy rain showers didn't stop country music fans who'd come from all over to see Willie Nelson on Thursday night. Thousands packed Hunter Mountain in New York for the inaugural Taste of Country Music Festival. Ponchos, umbrellas, cold beverages and great country music kept fans in good spirits while the LoCash Cowboys, Parmalee and Nelson took the stage.
Since 1985 Willie Nelson has toured the nation to help the American Farmer. Now, the historic national event will happen in our own backyard! Farm Aid 2013 is coming to Saratoga Performing Arts Center.
I've always LOVED parodying Willie Nelson. I've always loved that "warble" when he sings. So I gave it a shot this morning - pretending that he came on the air with us to hype his appearance at the Taste Of Country Music Festival at Hunter Mountain. (Are you going?) Get those tix!.
