Nearly 100 people are losing their jobs when another New York business closes one of its main facilities in the state.

A popular streaming service will be laying off hundreds of workers in New York.

The Malta complex opened back in 2009 bringing over three thousand jobs to the area. Now the company is cutting their workforce and hundreds of jobs are being eliminated in Malta and Albany.

A couple of hundred workers are receiving their pink slips in Schenectady. But there is a silver lining. There are a few companies that are going to try and hire those workers.

A few months ago, it was announced that Necco, the maker of candy hearts and other treats, may be going out of business after 170 years. Then there was a buyer who bought the company for millions. Now, without warning, a major factory of the candies has closed.

Man, this kind of news sucks anytime, but it sucks even more as we approach the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons.
