Lady Antebellum

Country artists are doing a lot of different things than just singing in today's country music news.

If you stayed up late on Saturday night, you had a chance to see one of the hottest acts in country music, Lady Antebellum perform as the musical guests on Saturday Night Live.

How I stumbled upon this, don't even ask!  You know how it happens.  You go looking for information about Amsterdam, NY because you want to write a theme song for it on Thursday (see what I did there?), and you end up finding this-Lady Antebellum joking around in the studio, writing song parodies!

Lots going on with in today's taste of country music news.  Lady Antebellum will be making their debut on “Saturday Night Live" tomorrow night.

Richie’s fav Martina McBride kicking off the NFL Breast Cancer Awareness Game by singing the National Anthem.

Newcomer Brantley Gilbert is making a dent on the charts.  His album “Halfway to Heaven Deluxe” debuted at number two on the Billboard Country Albums Chart.

It's another New Tune Tuesday with a number of country music releases. The last two Tuesdays have been have seen the release of Jake Owen's "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" on August 30th and George Strait's "Here For A Good Time" On September 6th. This week we have releases from a number of familiar names.

Yesterday was the first Sunday of football action in the NFL and of course yesterday was the 10th anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Before every game yesterday there were ceremonies honoring the lives lost and the brave men and women who were just doing their job.

For the second week in a row, Lady Antebellum‘s ‘Just a Kiss’ is the top song on Billboard’s country charts — and now it can add the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart to its lists of conquests. It’s another in a string of hits for the fast-rising band — and to hear singer Hillary Scott tell it, they always knew the song was going to be something special.

They cleaned up at the last Grammys, have sold more than three million copies of their latest record, and are gearing up to release one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year. What’s next for Lady Antebellum? Performing on the next season of ‘Saturday Night Live,’ for starters.
