This is sad. 27 year old Tina Karuzas of Schenectady has been charged with First Degree Manslaughter after she fatally stabbed her neighbor.

State - Governor Cuomo revealed what areas were the recipients of state grants, totalling $62.7 million.

New York - Be careful if you received an email with the subject line stating, “Uniform Traffic Ticket.”  The State Police says the email is a hoax and appears to be from the New York State Police or the Los Angeles Department of Motor Vehicles.

Michelle Williamson was at an Albany restaurant, on the corner of Quail Street and Western Avenue, when someone took her wallet of her table.

Attorney General, Eric Schneiderman unveiled the results of a sting operation involving the illegal purchase of guns.  The operation yielded 10 cases statewide, with three Capital Region residents among defendants accused of improperly selling firearms.

The Federal Trade Commission is accusing Facebook of misleading more than 800 million users of the site.  It is alleged that Facebook exposed details about users’ lives without getting legally required consent.

New York - Governor Cuomo sent a letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano, Monday, asking for FEMA to cover 90-percent of recovery costs for Greene and Schoharie Counties.

A 73-year old woman was found murdered in her Columbia County home Sunday.  The county sheriffs have 21-year old Shafiqul Islam in custody, but have not charged him with the Lois Decker's death.

When Penn State fired legendary head football coach Joe Paterno for not being more proactive after learning his long-time assistant Jerry Sandusky had sexually abused a boy, students rioted in protest. According to a survey of 1,386 adults from Poll Position, Penn State’s board of directors decision to dump Paterno immediately isn’t as controversial with the general public.

New York- Despite financial constraints and cutbacks, top staff at the New York State United Teachers, the largest union in the state representing teachers, received generous annual salary increases.

According to a new report from the Center for Retail Research, the most frequently stolen food on the planet is… cheese. The report says four percent of the protein and calcium-rich (not to mention tasty) food winds up being shoplifted worldwide every year, besting the theft-rates for other items like candy and alcohol and causing cheese to be labeled “high risk” for retailers.
