It may be happening on the opposite coast from the Capital Region, but Zach Radz is back on the court, and making a name for himself once more.

Radz has been competing in The Ones Basketball League, a competition created by NBA Hall of Fame guard Tracy McGrady, which pits two basketball players against one another in a one-on-one match. The league holds regional tournaments, and the winners from those regions advanced to the final rounds in Las Vegas.

Radz was one of those finalists, and now, finds himself a few wins away from a major payday.

Troy HS Grad Zach Radz to Play for $250K Basketball Grand Prize

As reported in a story by WNYT's Chris Onorato, 25-year old Zach Radz is one of 20 finalists to advance to the two-day final event for Tracy McGrady's The Ones Basketball League.

A 25-year old, Radz is a native of Watervliet, New York, and a graduate of Troy High School here in the Capital Region. Radz took his talents to Sacred Heart, where he played from 2016 through 2021, including a medical redshirt year during the 2019-20 campaign. Radz was a role player for the Pioneers, with his highest average minutes played per game coming his sophomore year, at 22.8.

As the report described, Radz was scrolling through social media, when he discovered Tracy McGrady's upstart Ones Basketball League. He participated in the regional tournament, of which there six total, and advanced to the final round.

As you can see above, Radz is an elite basketball player, and has the quick handles that have been crucial for this one-on-one style tournament.

The final two-day event is being played in Henderson, Nevada, and will run tonight and tomorrow, July 15th and 16th. Radz is playing in Game No. 8 of the final tournament, against former pro basketball player, Antonio Hester. A win in this round for Radz would advance him to the quarterfinals of the tournament.

In total, Zach Radz needs four more wins to cash in on the $250,000 grand prize.
