Suspected Serial Robber in Albany!? How To Help Police Stop Him!
Albany Police need your help in identifying a suspect they believe to be a serial robber responsible for numerous holdups at stores around the city.
What Happened Saturday Night?
Originally posted on the City of Albany Police Department Facebook page, a surveillance video still of the male suspect was shown from a prominently located, popular downtown Sunoco from Saturday night, June 25. Officers say they were called to the gas station for an attempted robbery. The man in the picture is wearing a grey Adidas hooded sweatshirt and a balaclava that obscures most of his face.
The attempted robber is pictured in the security tape carrying a pistol. Staff of the Broadway Sunoco say the would-be thief accosted them at the register with the handgun and demanded money. The incident occurred around 9:30p.
Which Sunoco Was Targeted?
The Sunoco where the man tried to strike is the location at 975 Broadway – just about two and a half blocks from the Palace Theatre.
The suspect in question did not receive any money and escaped the store empty handed. Albany PD says he matches the description of a man they’ve been looking for in conjunction with several other similar robberies in recent weeks.
