2 Capital Region cities have landed among New York's worst for drivers.
When it comes to driving, most of the states in the Northeast are known for having bad drivers. This especially applies to New York, Massachusetts, and New Jersey.
Maybe drivers' overall approach in New York is more aggressive and 'gotta get where I'm going' than reckless, but it still elevates the danger level when navigating Empire State roadways.
Lending Tree Study Reveals New York Drivers By City
The insurance experts at Lending Tree recently determined the best and worst drivers in New York by city and town based on incident rates. Lending Tree says "...incidents include speeding tickets, at-fault accidents, DUIs and other violations."
Before we get to the worst 5, which cities are the best? Here are Lending Tree's 5 best New York cities for drivers:
- 1. Rome
- 2. Freeport
- 3. New Rochelle
- 4. Spring Valley
- 5. Rochester
Rome has New York's lowest accident/incident rate at only 2.9 per 1000 drivers, and all 5 cities above fall at 4 or under.
