Steven Tyler is putting the finishing touches on his debut country album, and he says a tour is also in the works to support his new music.

“We hope to be going on tour after we release the album, which will be in two months from now,” Tyler shares. “I hope to be going on tour in June, album come out in May.”

As for the progress of the album, Tyler says things are going well. “We’re really close right now and we just got a few more things to record next and throw up against the wall and see if they stick,” he explains.

The album is due out this year and will feature his new single, "Red White and You." In addition to a tour, the legendary rocker will headline WE Fest 2016, the annual three-day country music and camping festival in Detroit Lakes, Minn. running Aug. 4-6, 2016. Tyler will be performing with his new band, Loving Mary, and his set will include songs from his upcoming country album for Big Machine.

"A music icon performing at one of country music’s most iconic festivals — it doesn’t get better than this — Steven Tyler is a perfect fit for WE Fest," WE Fest General Manager Bob Bliss said in a press release. “He is a big fan of country music and is excited to play the largest country music camping festival in the world. Our ultimate goal is to make this year’s WE Fest the best one ever for our loyal fans and I can’t wait for August!"
