Propane Leak In Wilton Leads To Evacuation

Several people have been evacuated from their homes in Wilton, and sent to a shelter that’s set up on Ballard Road in the Wilton Fire Department.

It’s because of a major propane leak. This was reported about 5:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon. (Please note - the picture is only a stock photo)

In the story from News 10 ABC, a propane tank was leaking in the bottom of a 17 thousand gallon tank.

From TWC News, they’re reporting that the leak is at AmeriGas, in Wilton, on Commerce Park Drive. According to Saratoga County Sheriff Michael Zurlo, it’s possible that it may be Saturday morning before everything’s under control.

People are urged to stay away from the area, and there are a number of roads that are closed.
