A case of the measles was confirmed by the state Department of Health Tuesday. An RPI student contracted the disease and the best part – they may have exposed multiple persons beyond the Troy campus.  If you think you might have been exposed, please contact the hospital or county health department for treatment options.  Symptoms of the measles include, but are limited to fever, fatigue, spots in the inside of your mouth, sore throat and runny nose.  More symptoms can be found at bettermedicine.com.

Possible exposure places include the Samaritan Hospital's emergency department between 5 and 11pm last Thursday (May 12th) and between 7:30 and 10:30 pm Friday (May 13th); Albany Medical Center's emergency department between 8:40pm ........................................................................................ last Thursday and 6am last Friday.

Anyone on the RPI's campus from May 8th to the 16th could have been exposed as well as anyone at the Uncle Sam's Health Food Store, Route 9 in Latham last Thursday (May 12th) between noon and 4pm and, the Rite Aid on Burdett Avenue in Troy between 8:30 and 9:30pm Thursday.
