Legendary Saratoga Springs Motel Named Most Iconic & Unique In America

The Spa City is known for some great places to spend a night, and one downtown motel is receiving national recognition as one of the most iconic and unique places to stay in the US.

Many legendary hotels come to mind when you think of historic places to stay. The Adelphi, Gideon Putnam, and the Saratoga Arms Hotel are a few that come to mind. But it is a historic motor lodge that is getting some nationwide props as one of the best in the nation!

Cheapism, a popular travel website, has named its 27 Iconic and Unique Motels Across America, and a popular Saratoga Springs destination made the distinguished list. It features classic motor inns that Cheapism calls "...the American motels keeping the nostalgia alive."

The Spa City motel that made the list has been a local icon for years, and recently underwent some sweet upgrades.

Spa City Motor Lodge Named Among Most Unique and Iconic US Motels

The hotel formerly known as the Downtowner has been an overnight destination for downtown guests and the latest updated version of the classic motor lodge has been named one of the nation's best by Cheapism.

Here is what Cheapism had to say about Bluebird Spa City Motor Lodge on Broadway:

Less than an hour north of Albany, this motel offers mostly monochromatic rooms (with some well-placed splashes of vibrant color)...The Spa City Motor Lodge is located squarely in the center of Saratoga Springs, a town that is abundant with cultural and culinary offerings, but you can also just relax at the motel, which features a shared lounge and atrium and a rooftop seating area. Rooms here average around $300/night.
