University of Idaho Slayings Suspect Caught Miles Away From NY
As 2022 ends, we may have an answer on one of the most brutal crimes of the year that shattered an entire town and left the nation looking for answers. Police have arrested a suspect in the murder of four University of Idaho students only one hour away from New York.
28-year-old Bryan Christopher Kohberger was taken into custody Friday, December 30 in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Monroe County is less than 50 miles from Point Jervis, NY.

There was a warrant out for Kohberger's arrest on four counts of first-degree murder and one of felony burglary. Kohberger is a graduate student at Washington State University’s Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology, according to CNN.
Authorities believe the four victims, each in their early 20s, were murdered in their sleep on November 13. According to the coroner's office, all bodies had multiple stab wounds. The grisly crime terrified the residents of Moscow, Idaho. With a killer on the loose and with no idea if they would strike again, many students left before the end of term.
Kohberger's white Hyundai Elantra was traced down after being seen in the area of the killings. Authorities say traces of Kohberger's DNA were found at the crime scene. Police received about 20,000 tips and conducted over 300 interviews.
The FBI, Idaho State Police, and Pennsylvania State Police worked together after suspecting Kohberger was headed east. Kohberger will have an extradition hearing that could send him back to Idaho to stand trial on January 3.
