I find New York State to be a very dog-friendly state. Your furry friend is welcome in many hotels, restaurants and shopping malls. Colonie Center Mall on Wolf Road in Albany, for example, is not only dog-friendly but they have sanitary stations equipped with poop bags for easy clean up.

Of course the Empire State offers many outdoor activities for your pooch including beaches, hiking trails and campgrounds. Recently one dog in particular set out on a hiking adventure with his family and ended up needing to be rescued. Wait until you see this guy.
