Did NBA Fix New York Knicks Finals Opponent?
Huge news for fans of the New York Knicks. They played their way in dominating fashion to their first NBA Finals appearance since 1999. They swept the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-0 and now wait for the finish of the Western Conference Finals which is between the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder.
Currently the Western Conference Finals are all tied up and 2-2 and game five is in Oklahoma City on Tuesday night. OKC is the favorite but this young Spurs team is giving them a run for their money. However, does it even matter? Have the 2026 finals been plotted out already?
Many NBA fans woke up on Tuesday morning to see this in the NBA Store's website.
I captured this screenshot myself Tuesday morning a little after 6:00am Eastern time.

Could this just be an error? Or was the NBA busted fixing the finals to have the Knicks face the Thunder? Immediately sports fans jumped all over social media posting about conspiracies. I am here for this.
For years fans of every sports have jokingly talked about a supposed "script" for how it will all play out. This latest thing is just more ammunition for those who think that all professional sports are predetermined like professional wrestling. Whether you believe the conspiracy or not, this is a pretty big mistake to end up on the league's official website.
It does look like it has been resolved as of 12:00pm Eastern. Now the website on Desktop appears to only show the New York Knicks as "finals bound" instead of also displaying the OKC Thunder.
