The College of Saint Rose will be closing on May 11, 2024, after a vote from the school's Board of Trustees sealed the institution's fate. With hundreds of students now without a home for the 2024-25 academic year, other schools across the Capital Region and Upstate New York are stepping up to help.

Per News 10, Siena College said in a statement, in-part, that [they] are currently developing the details of a comprehensive support plan for St. Rose students that we plan to finalize in the coming days.

Union College officials said that Saint Rose students with a 3.0 GPA or higher will not have to pay any application fees to transfer to Union College. Union is also offering an expedited financial aid evaluation, per WRRV.

HVCC has established a Transfer from The College of Saint Rose form on their website, and students are encouraged to fill-out the form if they are looking for their next home in the Fall of 2024.

The school also mentions information about a seamless transfer partnership with the University at Albany and comprehensive agreements with Siena, Russell Sage, and more than 300 other colleges and universities in New York and beyond.

Per WRRV, Mount Saint Mary College President Father Greg Fluet said, in-part, that Mount Saint Mary College is ready and willing to provide support to all College of Saint Rose students by making it as easy as possible to transfer all credits to the Mount though an expedited transfer process.
