Check Out the First Photos of Caitlin Clark Practicing in NY’s Capital Region

The 2024 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament has tipped off at MVP Arena in Albany, and Capital Region basketball fans are in for an electric weekend.

Three of the nation's most popular teams --- South Carolina, LSU and Iowa --- will all play in Albany this weekend, each vying for the opportunity to play in the Final Four in Cleveland next weekend.

There are countless reasons to be excited about this weekend's action in Albany, but most of those reasons, if not all, pale in comparison to the excitement surrounding Caitlin Clark.

Clark has spent her senior season with Iowa smashing college basketball's most unbreakable records. She broke the all-time women's basketball record for points in a career on February 15th, then roughly three weeks later, broke the men's/all-time scoring record, too.

Clark holds the women's basketball records for, among other categories, field goals, field goal attempts, three-point field goals (and attempts), assists, points and points per game. She also holds the record in new statistic, win shares, which attempts to divvy up credit for team success to the individuals on the team, per Basketball Reference.

The eye-popping statistics are, collectively, a massive part of Clark's collegiate legacy. That said, when talking about Caitlin Clark, we also have to talk about her impact. Many liken her impact on the women's collegiate game to that of Steph Curry on the professional game; their ability to create a shot from anywhere on the floor is something that is still relatively new in the game of basketball.

More men's players than ever are shooting three-pointers like Steph Curry, and soon, more women's players will be shooting like Caitlin Clark, as well.

Friday morning, Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes took the floor at MVP Arena for the first time. When this happened, Getty Images' photographers were able to capture Clark's first moments practicing in the Capital Region.
