New Haunted Attraction Coming to Lake George

There's nothing like Lake George in the fall. You've got the gorgeous foliage, the perfect chill in the air and plenty of spooky places to explore.

And to make that experiences even spookier Lake George is adding a new "immersive" haunted house at a "living history museum."

Fort William Henry will host Fort Fright "An Immersive After-Dark Experience - Real History & Real Legends" starting on Thursday September 26th, 2026.

Fort William Henry Goes Dark For Fort Fright Haunted House

According to the ticketing website, Fort Fright will is "an immersive, timed-entry experience through the Fort’s historic rooms, ramparts, passageways, and hidden spaces."

The website states:

Guests will encounter atmospheric effects, unsettling scenes, costumed characters, and moments inspired by the real history and enduring legends of Fort William Henry.

After you brave your way through the haunted Fort William Henry, you also have the opportunity to take part in a mini paranormal investigation, this is an add on to your original ticket.

Is Fort William Henry Haunted?

The area surrounding Fort William Henry has been the scene for countless battles, terrible disease and harsh climate. With hundreds of years of history, there are bound to be some ghost stories.

Many believe that the fort is one of the more haunted locations in New York State. There have been reports of apparitions, voices, foot steps and other spooky happenings.

For William Henry has such a haunted reputation that SyFy's Ghost Hunter's did an investigation back in 2009 and on the Travel Channel's Portals to Hell in 2021. Take a look:

This past summer Fort William Henry introduced hands-on Paranormal Investigations on Monday and Tuesday nights.

Guests who are brave enough to investigate are given paranormal investigation tools and search for proof of paranormal activity on the grounds.

Needless to say the new Fort William Henry immersive haunted house will be filled with scare actors, and probably real ghosts.
