Anytime a beloved institution like Huck Finn's has an ownership change, there could be consternation about how it could evolve or change. For over 50 years Capital Region families and kids have been enjoying all the rides at Huck Finn's, from its Hoffamn roots in Latham to its current home in Albany. According to a WNYT News Channel 13 report, a new owner is taking over the local icon.

Stamford, Connecticut-based, Scene One (Formerly Bow Tie) Management, which owns cinemas in Schenectady and Saratoga Springs, has purchased Huck Finn's. So what does the future hold for the legendary attraction?

WNYT is reporting Scene One Chief Operating Officer Joseph Masher issued a statement revealing plans to "grow" the park saying:

"The park continues to delight, and it is my goal to preserve and grow it for many future generations. There aren’t too many people that can say they own the very first Ferris wheel, Merry-Go-Round, scrambler, roller coaster, and train they rode as a child 50-plus years ago!

Over half a century strong and years to go here's to the next generation of Capital Region kids enjoying that first thrill of the rides at Huck Finn's!
