The creator of Downton Abbey is filming a new series in one of Hollywood's favorite filming destinations.

How cool is it that Troy is kind of a hot spot filming destination for movies and TV shows? A new HBO show from Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes will now be filming scenes in the Collar City, and you could be an extra!

'The Gilded Age" is a new show that HBO says will star Cynthia Nixon, Amanda Peet, Christine Baranski and more. Itis based in 1882 and is about "...a young orphaned daughter of a Southern general...(who)...moves in with her rigidly conventional aunts in New York City." So, Troy, with it's classic NYC vibe, makes sense for filming. According to a Times Union (TU) report, the show had scouts in town last week scoping out filming locations. There is no word on when 'Gilded Age' will debut, but the TU says the shows first season will  launch with 10 episodes.

Now here is the really cool part: you could be a part if filming when the show. Grant Wilfey Casting is looking for extras for the show when they film in Troy June 8-23 and no experience is necessary. You can get more details about being an extra and register for the roles here.
