2000- George Strait sits at No. 1 with 'The Best Day.'
1998- Tim McGraw and Faith Hill grab four ACM awards for 'It's Your Love.' The 1997 power duet grabs Single, Song, Video, and Vocal Event of the Year.
1995- 'I Can Love You Like That' is at No. 1 for John Michael Montgomery. Later that year, the song is covered by the pop group All 4 One.
Birthdays
Glen Campbell, 1936. The 'Rhinestone Cowboy' starts as a session musican, a guitarist on the Champs hit 'Tequila,' and a brief touring member of the Beach Boys before finding his way to Country Music. After a few releases on Capitol Records, he cracks the Country Top 40 with his Grammy winning hit 'Gentle On My Mind' in 1967. In 1969 he brings country music to the mainstream with his own TV show on CBS, "Glen Campbell's Goodtime Hour." Glen is elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005 and launched his farewell tour in 2011.
