Fish For Free In New York Next Weekend
It's your opportunity to fish the watering hole of your choice without a license.
Chances are if you are an avid fisherman, you have been taking every opportunity during the pandemic to get out and enjoy the great outdoors. Angling has been one of those activities that the pandemic did not affect.
Now if you have been thinking about taking up fishing, this is the ultimate opportunity to dip your toe, or maybe I should say your hook, in the water for the ultimate social distancing activity.
According to New York Upstate, the state of New York is having another free fishing weekend Saturday, June 27th and Sunday, June 28th. New York residents and non-residents will be free to fish state waterways, license free. New York Upstate does point out that all other fishing regulations will remain in place. You can find those regulations at the New York Department of Environmental Conservation website.
And the best part about getting out into nature by yourself? No need for a facemask. Just don't forget the bug spray and sunscreen!
