Feel The Love: This Capital Region City Is One Of Nation’s Most Romantic
Ya gotta love how one local city, recently named the state's ugliest, is now getting a much 'lovelier' recognition.
Here we are, Valentine's Day. The day that is all about love. And when it comes to finding a romantic spot to take your Valentine, what makes a city your destination of choice? A quaint downtown or maybe a cozy restaurant? Or maybe somewhere you could shower your love by taking them shopping for gifts?
As far as the Capital Region goes, places like Saratoga Springs or Lake George will come up frequently as the places that fit the romance niche. But apparently, they aren't the only ones that bring the love.
Data-Axle recently did a study to determine the most romantic mid-sized cities in the Country. By midsized they are referring to those with a population of 100,000 - 250,000 people. The website based its rankings on cities with "...the highest number of French restaurants, jewelry, florists, candy, chocolate and lingerie stores per capita." So basically, all the criteria that Valentine's Day is based on. So which Capital Region city landed pretty high on this list?
Surprise: This Capital Region City Is Among Most Romantic In US
The city that was recently named New York's ugliest is also super romantic! Yes, I am talking about Albany (Which we know is NOT ugly!). Albany landed at #11 on this nationwide list, and justifiably so.
Outside of the criteria on this list which we know are all well represented in the state's Capitol, locally it is simply an underrated destination to spend with the one you love. I'll take a night out for dinner at Prime, followed by a show, and then a nightcap at the Olde English Pub not just on Valentine's Day but anytime! Maybe it is time you rediscover downtown on a night out with your Valentine!
