Crystal Gayle says her sister Loretta Lynn has been in good hands following her stroke on May 4 -- but she's also asking fans to keep their prayers coming. The singer shared an update on her social media accounts on Wednesday (May 10).

"Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes for Loretta. Keep them coming!" Gayle writes. "We are lucky, in this day and age, to have wonderful doctors and nurses taking great care of her."

When news of Lynn's stroke broke on Friday (May 5), her representatives stated that the country icon was expected to make a full recovery. WSMV-TV reports that Lynn's daughter, granddaughter and assistant all say the artist is getting better each day; they note, specifically, that she is sitting up in her recliner, talking and laughing.

Lynn’s stroke occurred at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. Following the stroke, the legendary singer-songwriter was admitted to a Nashville hospital.

Doctors have advised Lynn to stay off the road while recuperating, so all of her upcoming shows have been postponed. Fans can check Lynn’s official website for updates on when shows will be rescheduled.

Lynn celebrated her 85th birthday on April 14. On Aug. 18, she will release a brand-new album, Wouldn’t It Be Great; the following week, on Aug. 25, an exhibit about Lynn will open at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
