1973- Kris Kristofferson marries Rita Coolidge with Kristofferson's father, a minister, conducting the ceremony.

1950- Hank Snow's 'I'm Moving On' slides him to the top, for the first of 21 weeks.


Clay Walker, 1969.  Scores hits with 'Then What' 'The Chain of Love' and 'She Won't Be Lonely Long.'  Living with MS, he launched

Lee Ann Womack, 1966.  Hits include the CMA and Grammy award winning song 'I Hope You Dance.' Plus,  'Ashes By Now' and 'A Little Past Little Rock.'

Edward Garvin Futch, 1944.  Some people just need a stage name!  Under the name Eddy Raven he lands hits with 'I Got Mexico' 'Joe Knows How To Live' and 'I'm Gonna Get Ya.'  Eddy also writes The Oak Ridge Boys' hit 'Thank God For Kids.'
