It's not everyday you see a helicopter hovering over Albany's tallest building.

But, this same scene actually occurred 50 years ago when the tower first went up! According to All Over Albany, the systems used to go up and down the tower for maintenance (Window cleaning, etc) are due for an upgrade, so a helicopter was brought in to lift the new apparatus and parts to the roof of the Corning Tower. All Over Albany says the same process was used 50 years ago when the original maintenance rig was installed. Here's the footage of the materials being lifted to the roof:
