BankRate.com has released a new survey based on cost of living, crime rates, taxes, walkability, weather, well being, among other factors and two of our very own Capital Region cities have made the Top 15 WORST to retire in.

I was scanning Facebook last night when I saw a friend post this, from a Chicago news station:

First of all, why does anyone know Troy, NY in Chicago (no offense, Troy.) So, I decided to do some research on where these "facts" came from. It turns out that BankRate.com put together a new survey with plenty of data to back themselves and I'm sorry, Troy and Schenectady, but you've made the list of worst places to retire to!

In fact, New York didn't even crack the Top 100 of best places to retire. The closest the Capital Region came was Cambridge, MA at #36.

You can check out the full list here.
