Even though there was no grand prize winner in last night's Mega Millions drawing, someone in the Capital Region is waking up a little bit richer this morning. There were two second-place tickets sold in New York state and one in the Capital Region.

Someone in the Capital Region holds a winning lottery ticket worth over one hundred twenty-seven thousand dollars. The drawing happened Saturday night, May 14th for the New York LOTTO.

It's official. New York state has a new mascot to represent our area. It was a months-long search for the right one and on Monday, Governor Hochul revealed the winner.

It seems lately that if you live in the Capital Region and win the lottery it's usually a Take 5 drawing. Now it seems that someone got a piece of the Powerball jackpot winning fifty thousand dollars. The ticket was sold at a Cumberland Farms convenience store in Warren County.

I have to admit I was a bit bummed it wasn't me when I found out where the ticket was sold.

Columbia County is boasting the latest Take 5 winner in the New York Lottery. This time someone won the top prize of forty-five thousand dollars. The winning ticket was sold for Saturday night's (July 31st) drawing at a busy convenience store.

There is another lucky Take 5 winner in the Capital Region. This time in Saratoga County. I play Take 5 regularly now because it seems that there are more winners every day in this particular game in our area. I also live in Saratoga County now and I believe the winning ticket will be mine soon after hearing about the latest winner.

This is beyond amazing and I made sure to read the headline multiple times because this is not the kind of thing you want to mess up.  According to the New York Lottery, a ticket was sold in Saratoga County for Wednesday's Powerball lottery and the jackpot is a whopping $94.8 million.

Living near the Adirondacks and the beautiful fall foliage, I was surprised to find out that New York state hasn't finished first in three years. Now New York is the champion and it's well deserved.
