I don't know about you but I've been ready for the hot temperatures to hit since, well, the cold temperatures started. Lets be serious, once that chill is in your bones, it's almost impossible to get it out! Plus, I'm sick of being sick and while yes, I know I can get sick any time of the year I feel very strongly about the fluctuating temps playing a role in everyone feeling so crappy over the last few months.
Some times I'll stumble over to YouTube and throw in some of our local cities and towns just to see what pops up. You never know what you may have missed around the Capital Region or even just some of the beauty that we have around us.
In the winter of 2008, we had one heck of an ice storm that hit the Capital Region! Power was out in the majority of the surrounding area and not just for a couple hours, but for some weeks. You were thankful to know someone with a generator and that, maybe the Subway down the street was able to whip up some sandwiches for the family.
I am pretty shocked that it is currently 66* degrees outside right now, according to weather.com. I wasn't expecting it. I didn't see it coming. Neither did that darn groundhog a couple weeks ago (what shadow?)
We got a lot of snow over the weekend. I realize this is no news to you but listen, you could either be upset about it or just run with it and enjoy the heck out of it. I chose the latter and let me tell ya, it was fantastic!
When I see "Nor'easter Developing" in all of the news headlines, I've got to ponder "What in the world is a Nor'easter"? Before you get too judgmental, please be advised that I am not actually from the Northeast. In the Midwest we don't really have such a thing.
The winds were monsoon-like, any moisture froze and we weren't expecting it, that's for sure. In a forecast that called for possible snow, waking up to nothing more than a windblown Capital Region was a nice sight, or so it seemed.
