Like most of the Capital Region, I had a heck of a time getting out and about today!
As I made the drive down the Northway today at 35 miles per hour and saw people driving their SUV's and trucks way too fast for the conditions I remembered something my grandfather told me when I was about 16.
After dealing with driving or even walking in all this snow, the last thing you want to have happen is to find that your car has been towed! Not all city/town/village governments have snow emergency policies but the ones that do are serious about them. Here’s the list –
I think no matter what time of day you are being forced to trek out into our winter wonderland today, the roads most likely won't be very visible. Steve Caporizzo's morning forecast said the winds are suppose to carry in to tomorrow and if they are anything like they were this morning, I think I may have been safer riding a horse to and from work.
Do you have any photos to share of the storm we got overnight? While we didn't get a massive amount of snow, the wild winds made massive drifts. Here are a few shots from my driveway this morning - including the pile of snow that prevented me from opening my door!
This is hard to believe, but I bought a snowblower in Wilton, NY that has become the running joke every winter.
Update: The Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 5P today (Monday)
It will remain pretty windy out there so watch out for those snow drifts!
Prepare yourself for some possible heavy snow, as most of the Capital Region is expected to get hit with a major snow storm, late today and continuing into Monday.
