We often have tours and special guests drop by WGNA in Schenectady, New York. Today, a local student named Paul shadowed me in the Albany Townsquare Media studios. We took some requests, played some games, and spent a lot of time on the internet writing articles.
I love a good news story and this is really a great one. Sometimes I like other people, openly complain about a lack of desire and work ethic that many young people have these days, not so with this kid.
If you’re great at networking, filling out online applications and following up, chances are, you’ve landed an interview or two. Good work. That’s not so easy these days. But your work isn’t over.
In fact, your work is just beginning. The interview is where your true job-getting skills will have to come out. In fact, compared to everything you did to get it, the interview is like doing open-heart and brain surgery while also teaching a child how to tie his shoes. Not the easiest thing in the world.
We all know times are changing. Advancements in all areas have made things in our day to day lives better. But at the price of our job?
There was a time when a person would do just about anything in order to make ends meet. However, even with the unemployment rate dangling somewhere around 8 percent, many companies claim that they cannot find enough help to staff their operations.
