January 8, 2013 An Albany area cellphone store employee has been arrested after he stole a nude picture off of a customers phone - and texted it to himself. Colonie Police arrested the Verizon Wireless employee after the customer realized that the photo had been texted off of his phone.
We were shocked to learn that the Albany area was included when The Boy Scouts of America recently made headlines, again. The organization was forced to release a so-called perversion list which detailed more than 14,000 pages worth of child sex abuse incidents, most of which were never reportered to authorities. The massive document was released online and there are sadly incidents detailed in the Albany area.
A man drove from Long Island, New York, into Lower Manhattan earlier today in a van he thought was filled with explosives. He parked the van close to the Federal Reserve building, just a few blocks from the World Trade Center, and planned to detonate it using a cell phone from a nearby hotel.
The explosives, however, were fake.
September 26, 2012 UPDATE: 9/26/2012 @12N: YNN has reported that the dogs tested positive for Parvo, a neurological disorder which they couldn't treat. The surviving two puppies had to be put to sleep. So very sad.
September 24, 2012 Albany police arrested four kids over the weekend between two different house parties. Two 21 year olds were hosting a large house party where alcohol was being served to minors on Hudson Avenue. While the other party was on Morris Street and was hosted by two minors.
September 20, 2012 Parents want to trust their kids are being watched at daycare - mostly because that's what daycare is for. Not the case for one woman in upstate New York who has lost her license after local media discovered she was leaving the kids alone so she could head to McDonald's.
September 11, 2012 This has to be one of the most cruel stories we're ever seen - and just leaves us at a loss for words. Three puppies, less than a month old, were found nailed to the railroad tracks in Albany. The three puppies are a pit bull mix and were found on Saturday between North Pearl and Broadway.
New York State Police have arrested Becky Goodermote, from Hoosick Falls, after she allegedly left the scene of a hit and run accident in which a 39 year old Petersburgh man, Matthew Ratelle was substantially injured. Goodermote struck Ratelle from behind while riding his bicycle on NY Route 22. He remains in critical condition at Albany Medical Center. Initially police suspected texting was involved, but according to the charges filed, it was a much different cause.
Wade Michael Page, the shooter in Sunday’s massacre at a Wisconsin Sikh temple, was originally thought to have been gunned down by police — but new evidence is emerging that indicates he, like many other spree killers before him, actually took his own life.
More details are now available regarding Randy Travis‘ arrest in North Texas on Tuesday night. As previously reported, the singer was nabbed for suspicion of DWI, as well as retaliation and obstruction, after he allegedly crashed his car and “verbally threatened” a police officer. Reports are now surfacing that Travis was naked at the time of his arrest, which came just before midnight.
A shooting at a Sikh temple near Milwaukee left seven dead on Sunday, including the gunman. According to police reports, a gunman arrived outside the temple at around 10 AM and shot and killed two people. Afterward, the shooter walked inside the temple and fatally shot four others.
The name James Holmes became infamous on July 20th, 2012. He has now been formally charged, and will have to face the consequences of his actions.
